As a Silversmith (Ladysmith) Bonnie likes to work in small artisanal and production batches to create OOAK jewellery designs from raw sterling silver grain. She will smelt, form, fabricate; bezel set, wirewrap, string and generally play with jewellery and the making of wearable art. A graduate from l'Ecole de Joaillerie de Montreal in 2008 she moved to Ontario that same year. Crystals, fossils, rocks, gemstones, semi-precious jewels and pearls all play a part in the creative process. Bonnie intuitively plays with crystals and often interprets their vibrations. She is constantly learning about the world of rocks and crystals and is intrigued and loves all jewellery in its many different forms and mediums; thus, this translates into functional well-balanced, organic styles that emulate Mother Nature. Another part of her process allows for the re-invention of old pieces into more easily wearable and modern styles. She will take a traditionally strung Pearl necklace that sits away in a drawer and transforms it into something fun and functional for everyday. She will smelt old pieces and create something different that the wearer will enjoy showing off. She mainly works by commission with gold in this manner.
